What Opus does on iPhone

• Plays M3U and M3U8 (HLS) playlist URLs you paste in.
• Signs in to an Xtream Codes portal with host, username and password.
• Shows an EPG guide when your playlist provides one.
• Keeps playing in Picture-in-Picture or in the background while you use other apps.
• Remembers where you stopped in a series or a film.

What Opus does not do

• Opus does not sell, host or bundle channels, streams, playlists or subscriptions.
• The app is empty when you install it. Nothing plays until you add a playlist you already have the right to use.

Set up Opus Media Player on iPhone

1. Install the app

   Open the App Store on your iPhone, search for Opus Media Player, and install it. It is free to download and needs iOS 15.1 or later.

2. Have your playlist details ready

   You need either an M3U or M3U8 URL, or the host, username and password of an Xtream Codes account. Your provider gives you these; Opus does not.

3. Add the playlist

   Open Opus and choose to add a playlist. Pick the M3U option and paste the URL, or pick the Xtream option and fill in host, username and password.

4. Wait for the list to load

   Opus reads the playlist and sorts it into live channels, films and series where the source provides that structure. A large playlist can take a moment the first time.

5. Check the guide

   If your source supplies EPG data, the guide fills in on its own. If it stays empty, the playlist is not sending EPG, not a fault in the app.

6. Start watching

   Pick a channel and play it. Swipe out of the app and playback carries on in Picture-in-Picture.

Troubleshooting on iPhone

The playlist URL is rejected

Open the same URL in Safari. If the browser does not download a file either, the URL or the subscription is the problem, not Opus. Check for a missing character at the end and for an expired account.

The guide is empty

EPG comes from the playlist, not from Opus. If the source publishes no EPG, or publishes it under a separate URL you have not entered, the guide stays blank.

Channels buffer on mobile data

IPTV streams are usually sent at one fixed bitrate with no adaptive fallback, so a weak signal shows as buffering rather than as a lower quality picture. Try the same channel on Wi-Fi to tell a network problem from a source problem.

Xtream login fails

The host field wants the portal address on its own, without a trailing path. Copy the three values straight from your provider's email rather than retyping them.

Playback stops when the screen locks

Start Picture-in-Picture before locking, or check that background playback is allowed in the app settings.
