Opus Media Player on iPad is the same App Store app as on iPhone, laid out for a bigger screen. The practical difference is the guide: an EPG grid that is cramped on a phone becomes genuinely readable on an iPad, which is where most people end up browsing what is on.
As on every other platform, Opus supplies no content. You bring an M3U or M3U8 URL, or an Xtream Codes login, and Opus plays what it finds there.

Set up Opus Media Player on iPad
Install the app
Open the App Store on the iPad, search for Opus Media Player and install it. It needs iPadOS 15.1 or later.
Collect your playlist details
Either an M3U or M3U8 URL, or the host, username and password for an Xtream Codes account, both supplied by your provider.
Add the playlist
Open Opus, add a playlist, and choose the M3U option or the Xtream option depending on what you have.
Let the categories build
Opus sorts the playlist into live channels, films and series where the source labels them. Larger playlists take longer on the first load.
Open the guide
If the source publishes EPG data, the grid fills in. On an iPad this is the fastest way to find something to watch.
Play
Select a channel. Use Picture-in-Picture to keep it running in a corner while you do something else.
Troubleshooting on iPad
- The playlist loads on iPhone but not on iPad
- Most providers cap how many devices may connect at once. If the phone is still playing, it may be holding the only slot. Stop playback there and try again.
- The guide is blank
- The EPG comes from your playlist source. An empty grid means the source is not sending guide data, or is sending it from a separate URL that has not been entered.
- The picture is soft on a large screen
- An iPad shows the stream at whatever resolution the source sends. A channel that looked acceptable on a phone can look soft here; that is the source, not the player.
- Picture-in-Picture does not start
- Check that Picture-in-Picture is enabled in iPadOS Settings under General, and that the channel is actually playing before you swipe away.
- Xtream login is refused
- Enter the host on its own, with no extra path after it, and copy the username and password rather than retyping them.
