TiviMate vs Opus: Features, Devices and Which to Choose
Choose TiviMate if every screen you watch on runs Android TV or Fire TV and you want recording, catch-up or several channels on screen at once. Choose Opus if you also watch on an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, where TiviMate does not run.
Both are players only; neither includes channels. The comparison below uses TiviMate's own website (tivimate.com) and the current Opus apps, checked on 4 November 2026.

Where TiviMate is better
Recording, catch-up and Multiview are the reasons people pick TiviMate, and Opus has none of the three. TiviMate also shows a guide for M3U playlists, which Opus does not. If you watch only on Android TV or Fire TV and use those features, TiviMate is the stronger choice.
Where Opus is better
Opus runs on Apple devices as well as Android ones, so one household can use the same player on an iPhone, an iPad, an Apple TV and a Fire TV. QR Sync copies a playlist from the phone to the TV, so nothing is typed with a remote; the Apple TV setup page shows how.
Can I use my TiviMate playlist in Opus?
Yes. Add the same M3U link or Xtream Codes login your source gave you. If you only kept the M3U link, the Xtream to M3U converter reads the server, username and password out of it, so you can sign in with Xtream and get the TV guide. Check how many devices your source allows before running both players at once.
