M3U Editor: Free IPTV Playlist Editor

To edit an M3U playlist, open the file below, untick the groups and channels you do not want, rename, reorder or move what is left, and download the new file.

Open several files to merge them into one playlist. Channels you do not change are written back exactly as they were, so catch-up, guide IDs and player options are not lost.

Open one or more M3U files

Private by design. Your files are read and rebuilt on your device, and nothing is saved. The tool never uploads them, and the page's security policy blocks every connection except anonymous usage statistics.

What the editor changes in your playlist

ActionWhat is written
Untick a group or channelIts lines are left out of the new file.
Rename a groupgroup-title is set to the new name on every channel in it, and #EXTGRP lines are updated.
Rename a channelThe text after the comma in its #EXTINF line changes; tvg-name and the guide ID stay, so guide matching is unaffected.
Reorder groupsChannels are written group by group in the new order, keeping their order inside each group.
Move a channel or add a groupThe channel's group-title is set to its new group, where it takes its place in playlist order. A new group, such as Favourites, starts empty and is written where you put it.
Remove duplicate linksLater entries with a link that already appears are left out.
Number channelstvg-chno is set to 1, 2, 3… in the new order. Players that support it show those numbers.
Open several filesThey are merged into one playlist, with one #EXTM3U line that lists every guide link.

Channel lines with no link after them are dropped, because no player can open them. The M3U file checker lists these and other errors by line number.

How to use the edited playlist

In an app that opens files
VLC and some players open a .m3u file directly. Copy the file to the device and open it there.
In an app that needs a link
Most IPTV player apps on TVs, Opus included, load a playlist from a URL. Put the file where you can get a direct download link that only you know, such as a private cloud folder, and add that link.
Keep it up to date
The file is a snapshot. When your source adds or changes channels, download the original playlist again and repeat the edit.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to edit my playlist here?

Yes. The file is read and rebuilt in your browser and is never uploaded. Stream links usually contain your username and password, so do not share the edited file or put it in a public place.

Will editing remove catch-up or the guide?

No. Channels you do not touch are copied line for line. Renamed or renumbered channels keep all their attributes, including tvg-id, catchup and catchup-days, in their original order.

Can I edit an Xtream Codes login?

Not directly, because an Xtream login has no file. Turn it into an M3U link with the Xtream to M3U converter, open the link in your browser to download the file, then edit that.

Does a smaller playlist load faster?

Usually, yes. Players download and read the whole M3U file, so leaving out countries and groups you never watch makes loading and guide matching quicker, especially on TV devices.
